At which level is Europe's electronic Industry? And their manufacturing sites?

Check this link out: http://www.cio.com/blog_view.html?CID=27533

It is titled Foxconn to Sink $1B into Wuhan, China

It seems like we in Europe can dream about such investments in Electronic manufacturing plants. it is a pitty that there are no such big projects in Europe.

I am worried about the future of the economic situation in Europe especially in the world of electronics. When there a such huge investments in Asia the next investmenst are in R&D investments for Asia. So in long term everything is moving to those countries. They will be the leaders of tomorrow's technology.

Come on and stand up you over there European electronic wonder!

China's largest OEMs - Top 10

iSuppli has released a top list of China's largest OEM companies.

15 hours, 24 minutes ago (iSuppli)
by:  Jesper Olsson
According to iSuppli the domestic OEM companies accounted for 23 percent of the Chinese electronics manufacturing in 2005 while foreign multinational OEMs accounted for about 41 percent of the electronics manufacturing in China. Although Chinese OEMs have encountered difficulties during the last two years they have maintained constant growth. However total multinational OEM revenue as a percentage of overall manufacturing in China is declining. iSuppli predicts that the multinational OEMs will decrease its percentage from 41% to 32 % in 2010 while the Chinese OEMs percentage will rise from 23 to 27 in 2010.

Reconfigurable Radio Using Software Technologies

If you want to learn more over reconfigurable Radio using Software Techniques you can visit the following interesting website:

ABSTRACT

The role of radio in the telecommunication systems have extended from simple radio telephone to mobile communications and beyond. Minimization/replacement of hardware in communication technologies through software has resulted in the birth of new technology, widely known as Software-Defined Radio (SDR). This has come with the challenges to replace the functioning of hardware components by the software on a single chip like DSPs, ASICs, or FPGAs with high speed of operations. The depth of digitization in the radio communication engineering up to the RF front-end from the baseband is stated as an Ideal software radio. In this paper we cover the basic radio communication architecture, SDR architecture, technological challenges and applications.

Writing your own OS

This links shows how to write your own OS.

In a technical point of view this is very nice when you use it combined with an core you have on your FPGA.

FPGA --> hard or softcore processor --> OS (you best choose for an Real-time OS)

When I have some spare time I will start immediately a project like this.

Ooh yes, here is the link: http://www.joelgompert.com/OS/introduction.htm

Zigbee

Soon I will be playing with some Zigbee modules.

I am not sure what I am going to do with them; maybe I will make an Zigbee --> usb module that you can connect to your laptop/pc. But lateron they will be used to connect them to an FPGA or to a CompactRIO system we have.

If you want more information on zigbee you can visit this website.
